About the book
Jones reads the Psalter as poetry to be heard rather than decoded, with chapters on imagination, sound, metaphor, line and form, and conversation partners from George Herbert to Seamus Heaney. An Old Testament professor at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, writing for students and for preachers tempted to flatten a psalm into an outline.
