About the book
The Bruners comment on Matthew by treating its best-known and some lesser-known passages, drawing on literature, art, music and philosophy alongside biblical scholarship. Frederick Dale Bruner, a mainline Presbyterian scholar, wrote an earlier and widely used Matthew commentary, and this opens a planned four-volume Gospels series.
