About the book
Matera takes seven Old Testament stories in which God draws near, draws from each a mode of his presence, from promise and name to silence and judgment, and traces the theme into the New Testament. A senior Catholic New Testament scholar writing briefly for classrooms and study groups, with exegesis Protestant readers can use.
